Objective, timely, and relevant government statistics are arguably more important now than ever in the era of disinformation. Yet a growing number of challenges—from disinvestment to political interference—threaten to undermine the public data on which civil discourse relies.

With support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the American Statistical Association and George Mason University are leading a team to report on the health of the federal statistical agencies. In this webinar, they will outline their vision, work to date, and, most importantly, seek the input and participation of APDU members.

Presenters:
Steve Pierson, Director of Science Policy, American Statistical Association

Jonathan Auerbach, Professor, Department of Statistics, George Mason University
