In an age of misinformation, relevant, accurate, and timely data is now more valuable than ever.

In a new post, Melissa C. Chiu—Director of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Committee on National Statistics (CNSTAT)—discusses the importance of trustworthy public data and highlights resources CNSTAT produces to support the federal statistical system, including its recent two-report series, Toward a 21st Century National Data Infrastructure.

Click below to read more about CNSTAT’s landmark reports and the forward-looking vision and scientific recommendations they provide for improving statistical methods and the information we rely on for effective public policy.

APDU Data Storytelling Awards: Mapping Neighborhood Change

The Association of Public Data Users (APDU) is pleased to continue sharing the work of finalists for this year’s APDU Data Storytelling Awards. This webinar will focus on an excellent piece from the New York City Department of City Planning that visually illustrates the city’s “remarkable population churn” and how these patterns of migration and natural change varied by neighborhood and race/ethnicity throughout the 2010’s.

Last Chance : Webinar Input

Remember to take APDU’s short survey and let us know what public data topics you would like to see discussed in future webinars, including the Census Bureau’s request for public comment on the 2024 ACS Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) Test.
