The National Agricultural Statistics Service of the Department of Agriculture is a principal Federal source of agricultural statistics. Different from the Economic Research Service, NASS collects, summarizes, analyzes, and publishes data on the number of farms and land in farms; acreage, yield, production, and stocks of crops; inventories and production of livestock, price indexes for products and more.
