The Economic Research Service of the Department of Agriculture is a principal Federal source of agriculture statistics. It provides economic and other social science research and analysis to inform public and private decision making on agriculture, food, natural resources, and rural America. ERS is a primary source of statistical indicators that measure the health of the farm sector (including farm income estimates and projections), assess the current and expected performance of the agricultural sector (including trade), and provide measures of food security in the U.S. and abroad.
