About APDU

April 2007

On behalf of the Association of Public Data Users’ Board of Directors, I’d like to extend our appreciation to you for your interest in the Association.

The Association’s goal is to improve access to and the quality of data produced by the federal statistical system. We work to do this in a number of ways, such as:

  • using our mailing list and newsletter to inform our members about key issues that can affect the quality of the data
  • educating key policy makers about the importance of data and threats to its quality and availability
  • being an active member of the Council of Professional Associations on Federal Statistics (COPAFS) and the 2010 Census Advisory Committee
  • organizing an annual conference in the Washington, DC area that provides opportunities for data users, disseminators, and producers to hear about each others’ concerns

Your Board of Directors is always eager to hear your concerns about data or APDU. If you have any comments or suggestions, please send me an e-mail to the address below. Hearing from you is our best way to assure that APDU is meeting our members’ needs and desires.

If you aren’t currently an APDU member, please take a look at our membership brochure and consider joining us.
